Her work within the Londonderry School District, as well as her ongoing advocacy efforts at local community and state levels, has been invaluable to the children, families, schools, and professional community within New Hampshire. Carol has dedicated her life’s work to support and advocate for a comprehensive, coordinated approach to children’s mental health care and education.
Carol commitment to professional excellence extends beyond direct intervention and support for struggling students to school-wide services and practices that have improved outcomes for all children. Her leadership and collaborative expertise further advances community, school and state effort to lower barriers to success and promote practices that contribute to the success and well-being of all our children, families, and schools.
Carol is a highly esteemed and valued member of the Londonderry School System. Colleagues described her as energetic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, a positive role model for the students in the school and a leader. She is described by colleagues a great communicator. She effectively uses her ‘Southern charm’ to win over the respect and trust of the child’s family in the process of her evaluations. She analyzes information methodically and comprehensively, and collaborates very well with the Teams on seeking the best possible outcome for the child. Her advocacy for each child with whom she works is truly genuine and intense.
The New Hampshire Association of School Psychologists proudly recognizes Mrs.Carol Van Loon dedication to children, schools and community and her contributions to our profession.
