Workshop Description

The purpose of the presentation is to help school psychologists and other school personnel navigate ethical and EDI dilemmas and promote the highest standards in their work with students, families, and school personnel. The session will highlight various EDI contexts in the school setting, reflective case studies, supportive discussions and communication tools and ideas to use in our everyday work.  Practical examples of ethical codes and the NASP Problem-Solving Model will be used to support  real-world situations. We are honored to learn from NASP Staff Sheila Desai and Serena Sowin. Registration costs for this event will sponsor the NASP Minority Scholarship.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will understand the concepts of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the school context.

  • Participants will utilize the NASP Principles of Professional Ethics and NASP Problem-Solving Model and identify 3 tools to navigate ethical problem solving

  • Participants will engage in discussion regarding ethical problem solving using reflective case studies

Target Audience

This workshop is appropriate for School Psychologists, Psychologists, School Social Workers, School Counselors, Special Education Teachers and Administrators, Regular Education Teachers, and Speech Pathologists. The workshop is available to current NHASP members at a special reduced rate as a membership benefit. Additionally, members of other Northeast Regional state associations can attend at the NH member rate as part of our regional collaboration. 

Students are also provided a reduced registration fee for this event.

*Students currently enrolled in a school psychology or school counseling program receive a reduced registration fee for this event.
