Professional Development

NHASP sponsors Professional Development opportunities several times a year, including a Fall Conference, Spring Conference, and often other opportunities throughout the year. Some events are led by NHASP, and some are active collaborations with other local, national, and international organizations. When co-sponsoring events with organizations, NHASP ensures that school psychologists continue to be represented around the state.

NHASP also sponsors Professional Development within Regional Meetings, an Early Career Support Group, and PLC (Professional Learning Community) Meetings. There are also many great professional development events available in NH through other organizations, which we often share on our Facebook page.

We look forward to connecting with you at one of our upcoming events!

All NHASP members are invited to join our monthly PLC meetings to discuss various school psychology topics. These small group conversations are a great opportunity to connect with other school psychologists in NH, share ideas, and ask questions of other professionals.

Zoom link will be sent to interested members. Contact PLC coordinator Tari Selig via the membership directory.

    Workshop Description

In this session, participants will understand the benefits of universal prevention and targeted intervention for the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students. Screening, teaming, and progress monitoring will be reviewed. Participants will learn about the need for responsible Emotional Disturbance assessment and eligibility determination practices and will better understand the impact of bias from the time of referral to eligibility recommendation. Using a sequential approach, participants will gain the knowledge needed to thoroughly assess students. Finally, they will learn how to link assessment findings to intervention.
